Walking in LEIDEN / Netherlands 🇳🇱- 4K 60fps (UHD)
Leiden / Netherlands is a city that is known for its centuries-old architecture and the oldest Dutch university, founded in 1575. Located in the Dutch province of South Holland near The Hague the famous painter Rembrandt was born in Leiden.
We start our long tour through Leiden at the trainstation as we came from Amsterdam. We walk to the city center where we see one of the typical windmills of Holland - this one called “Molen De Valk“.
Continuing on our way to Maredorp and Pieterswijk districts we see more canals with restaurants where people enjoy this sunny summer day (in August 2021).
Some sight with a little view of Leiden is the “Burcht van Leiden“ which is an old shell keep from the 11th century - now a public park. We get up there and around these medieval castle remains.
Leiden is also known the USA for being the starting place of the Pilgrims Fathers. In the early 1600’s the Pilgrims lived in tiny houses in various parts of the Leiden city center
