In 2020 he was named The Best FIFA Men’s Player, and this year he could win the Ballon d’Or for the first time. There’s a pretty strong case for the 33-year-old. He broke Gerd Müller’s almost 50-year record with his 41 goals in the Bundesliga last season. The 2020/21 Golden Shoe award for the leading goalscorer in Europe went to him, while the Pole also fired Bayern to victory in the 2021 DFL Supercup.
