Today we archive the massive surprise hit game that is taking YouTube by storm at the end of 2023. Lethal Company has a very simple concept that it executes brilliantly. The premise is this: me and my buddies are being sent to various moons and have to salvage valuable loot in order to reach a quota. The longer we search, the more items we can find, but also the higher the chances are that we will run into something nasty. The highlight of the game are definitely the various creatures that you encounter and their mechanics. It feels like a mix between Phasmophobia and SCP where some of the mechanics are very similar. Like the creature that will not move while you look at it or an enemy that will enrage and always know where you are. The game is very tense and spooky despite it looking so simple. The audio design is great and what is also awesome is that there is plenty to do for the player who decides to stay in the ship and monitor the other players. That task always felt very limited in other games, but here they can actually be very useful and help by opening and closing doors or taking out turrets. The game itself is quite small in scope, but I don’t think the creators themselves expected the game to become so huge as it did so I am happy for their success. Hopefully we will see more varied locations to explore in the future and other mechanics. The game itself has no ending at the moment and so for this archival footage I wanted to make sure we would visit at least all the moons that the game has to offer.
