Is This The Greatest Ancient Egyptian Treasure EVER Discovered? 🤩

To the average person with a passing interest in Ancient Egypt, they will have heard of The Sphinx, The Pyramids, The Valley of the Kings and the tomb of King Tutankhamen. In terms of treasure, King Tut’s golden artefacts get all the attention, and obviously for good reason, but there is another royal Egyptian treasure trove that often escapes the limelight. These are the Treasures of Tanis, discovered in the city of Tanis, in the Nile Delta region, northeast of Cairo. They were found in the late 1930s and early 1940s, in a complex of royal tombs, one of which was perfectly intact. The hoard includes four solid gold death masks, two beautiful and incredible solid silver coffins lined with gold and spectacular examples of Ancient Egyptian jewellery made from the most precious metals and stones. They date to the 21st to 22nd dynasty, between 1000 and 850 BC and my favourite is the solid silver Falcon-Headed Coffin of Sheshonq II. Watch this video to learn more: https://
