Kitten Tearful End After Being Considered As Monster In a small neighborhood in Kilis, Istanbul, there stood an old, dilapidated building that had been abandoned for many years and was about to be demolished. This building had become a refuge for many stray cats, most of whom were sick, and some were disabled, including a kitten that looked very pitiful. The kitten’s appearance was horrific: filthy, emaciated, and covered in wounds. The most terrifying part was its missing jaw, leaving the rescuer uncertain whether it had been beaten or was born with this defect. The kitten looked like a living skeleton, frail and desolate. Because of the kitten’s zombie-like appearance, the rescuer named it Zobi—a funny name but also with a very important meaning. The doctor diagnosed Zobi with Calicivirus, a severe infection that had gone untreated for so long that it caused Zobi’s jawbone to deteriorate. The vet explained that while some of the tissue damage might heal, there would be permanent tissue loss. Zobi’s lower teeth had pushed into his upper palate, making eating and drinking extremely painful. The vet told the rescuer that Zobi would never fully recover. The damage to his jaw was irreversible, but the vet and the rescuer could work together to heal the wounds inside his mouth as much as possible. Sadly, Zobi’s nose was also deformed, crooked, and partially melted away by the virus. His tongue, too, had suffered, with part of it twisted and melted.
