LAPD Officer Shoots Fleeing Armed Suspect

* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Los Angeles, California — On June 2, 2022, around 9:00 a.m., Olympic Division patrol officers responded to an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon” radio call in the 3000 block of 8th Street. As the officers responded to the area of the radio call, they observed a person matching the description of the suspect from the radio call. The officers immediately exited their vehicle to detain the suspect. The suspect fled on foot south on Berendo Street. The officers went in foot pursuit of the suspect. During the short foot pursuit, the suspect removed a handgun from his waistband and an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) occurred. The suspect was struck by gunfire and continued running southbound into the parking lot of the shopping center on the northeast corner of Berendo Street and 8th Street.
