Mozart Concerto for piano and orchestra No. 16 in D major, K 451 - LARS VOGT

Lars Vogt, piano Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra Gábor Tákacs-Nagy, conductor Of the major works Mozart wrote while in Vienna, is not very well known and drastically underrated in its virtuosity and broad symphonic structure. One might say the same for pianist Lars Vogt. He plays this concerto with elegance and touching tonality and temperament displaying Mozart’s “perspiring“ concerto with unbridled enthusiasm. Vogt rose to prominence after winning second prize at the 1990 Leeds International Piano Competition .
