Figure Skating in Harlem is an incredible non-profit founded in 1997 that provides opportunities for young skaters of color to excel in academia and leadership as well as in the art and sport of figure skating. In the past 5 years, 100% of their graduating skaters have gone on to college. Any professional skater living in NYC should jump at the opportunity to contact them and volunteer coaching hours in the winter time.
