La Pluie - Dub de l’amour

La Pluie - Dub de l’amour Moving images are from “To Parsifal“ directed by Bruce Baillie in 1963. (With the kind authorization of Lorie Baillie.) This musical work is an ode to universal love. It was recorded and put together during a two-years stay on the french island Belle-Île-en-Mer. This beautiful piece of rock is actually a Soundsystem land, where many dances take place during the warm season. I had the great pleasure to be among them, and I thank them here for all the huge work they put in to make this happen every year. I salute here Dorian, from Untitled Soundsystem, and Willy from Islanders Soundsystem, for their unrelented dedication and great energy. But also Arthur from Dub Dealing Soundsystem, for his “on-the-spot“ music suggestions. This project “Fréquence de l’amour“ (“Frequency of love“), is also a reply to the tune “Civilization“ sang by Afrikan Simba in 2007, on a riddim produced by Blackboard Jungle. This present work is an acknowledgment that no so much has changed since this alarming and powerful tune. But far from being pessimistic, the intention of this present work is an invitation to keep faith and strength during these challenging times. Let’s be faithful and steady. I would like to thank Sand-I, ex-member of Blackboard Jungle, who mixed some of my first riddims in 2009, and therefore encouraged me in my early musical youth. I would like to give thanks to the great and regretted Jah Shaka, whose uprightness and legendary dedication inspired me so much, in depth, in the few sessions I had the chance to attend, but also from this whole musical production. I would like to thank immensely Stepwizer for his trust, who helped so much in order for us to get a proper result. I would like to thank Tena Irie aka Prince Treety, for this in-depth work on arranging, mixing and dubbing this project. His work was precise like lazer-beam, and the quality of this project is mainly due to his attentive care and his musical sense. Finally, I would like to thank Santiago Garcia Velez, for his admirable and meditative artwork. May all beings in all the words be happy, Jean If you want to support the production of my upcoming album, please consider getting this one ! released October 10, 2023 Moving images : Bruce Baillie Composer : Stepwizer Arrangements, mix & dub : Prince Treety Mastering : Adrien Laroche, Marseille Artwork : Santiago Garcia Velez Lyrics & vocals : Jean Tertrain Written & recorded in Belle-Île-en-Mer, France Music label : Taureau éditions, Paris #roots #rootsmusic #dub #reggae #lapluie #frequencyoflove #jahshakalove #stepwizer
