Sir Keir Starmer will face Rishi Sunak at the first PMQs since the Tory conference recess. The Conservative “establishment” will try to stop Robert Jenrick from making the final two of the Tory leadership contest because of his support for leaving the European Convention on Human Rights, Nigel Farage has suggested. Tory MPs will vote for the final time in the contest this afternoon as they reduce the field of three down to a final two who will then face a ballot of party members. James Cleverly topped yesterday’s vote as he secured the backing of 39 MPs, while Mr Jenrick was second with 31 and Kemi Badenoch finished third with 30 as Tom Tugendhat was eliminated with 20.
