The world’s only preserved 17th-century ship, Vasa in 4K HDR
We tour inside a museum showcasing the world’s only preserved 17th-century ship! Where is it? How can you visit it? How about the opening hours and the ticket prices?
The Vasa Museum, located on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm, Sweden, is home to the only almost fully intact 17th-century ship that has ever been salvaged. The Vasa, as it is affectionately known, sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 but was raised in 1961.
The Vasa was a 64-gun warship commissioned by King Gustavus Adolphus II of Sweden in 1625. The ship was designed to be the most powerful warship in the Swedish fleet and was intended to intimidate Sweden’s enemies.
