Directed by James Havoc, CRIMES AGAINST PUSSYCAT (1989) is a hand-spliced sub-Anger Super-8 invocation of the 15th century alchemist/satanist/child-killer Gilles de Rais. It stars Primal Scream vocalist Bobby Gillespie as de Rais, Reverend Ashton as Barron, Havoc as Lucifer/Pussycat, and Meredith X as concubine to the pig kingdom. The soundtrack, featuring Primal Scream members Duffy and Throb, was released on Creation Records, but the video was banned from release by Alan McGee with the critical verdict: “
