Christian Nielsen - Elusive EP released on 2023-07-07 by Pets Recordings - PETS177
Christian Nielsen’s new ’Elusive EP’ confirms the Danish producer is anything but, with a slamming four track salvo covering an insatiable variety of sounds and styles all combining to create a stunning Pets Recordings debut.
Our own Techno Viking opens with the staunch and unrelenting title track. A metronomic stomper underpinned by a concrete kick drum and waves of bouncing sub. This is partnered on the A side with ’Let Me Go’, a breakbeat bubbler that conjures the spirit of 90s rave culture.
The
... retro rave continues on the flip with ’On and On’, a stripped back lo-fi jacking house cut. It’s pressured synths, rough-cut beats and cascading sirens make for a sweet festival-bound secret weapon. The EP is then rounded out with Luke Alessi’s remix of ’Let Me Go’, which ramps the oldskool flavour and BPM’s and moulds the original into a noughties-flavoured anthem.
