EXCLUSIVE: THE RIGHT TO RAPE (Crime Documentary--TW!)

SUBSCRIBE HERE :-) - In 1989, Granada Television’s “World in Action“ commissioned a nation-wide survey into rape inside marriage. This led to the making of “The Right to Rape“, an important documentary about a number of women who describe frankly how distressing it is to be raped by their husbands, and how in many ways it is worse than if it had been a stranger. Most women in the survey thought that English law should be changed, as it has been in Scotland, to make rape within marriage (marital rape or spousal rape) a crime. The survey revealed that this sort of violence is surprisingly very common, and the police feel unable to deal with it adequately while this legal position stands. Produced by Ray Fitzwalter and Dorothy Byrne, “The Right to Rape“ reflects the cultural attitudes and language of the time it was made. The issues raised are timeless, and the film contains footage that could trigger viewers, so please watch with that
