Susquehannock Part II - Ties to Giants/Mounds, Farming In Lancaster, Construction Deals, Paxton Boys

Welcome back for Part II, as we read through some early accounts of the Susquehannock and their impact on Lancaster County as written in journal entries and letters from the 1600’s and 1700’s. Continuing straight away, we see the impact of the Susquehannock as superior farmers, as well as skilled architects. We will discuss the techniques and rituals which the Susquehannock applied to their skin, as well as journals regarding an agreement between The Maryland Colony and the Susquehannocks, which paved the way for the Susquehannocks to help construct many cities and towns in and around Maryland and Pennsylvania. We will also discuss the fall of the Susquehannocks, and the apparent loss of their capital city on the coasts of Lancaster. Enjoy, and please stay positive!
