Mafia 2.0 — Police arrest treasurer of Italy’s modernizing New Mafia

BREAKING NEWS — July 16, 2018: A sweeping police operation in Palermo, Sicily, arrested 28 linked to what has been called the New Mafia — the reorganized and modernized version of Cosa Nostra variously dubbed Mafia 2.0 and Godfather 2.0. Among those arrested was Giuseppe Corona, alleged to be an emerging leader and money man for the mob as it reorganizes and modernizes after boss Totò Riina’s death in 2017. Corona is linked to the Porta Nuova family and has links to businesses, politicians, professionals and mobsters, and invested on behalf of various families through a vast network of racetracks, bars, tobacconists, shops, real estate and other businesses, authorities alleged. The Guardia di Finanza police force carried out dozens of searches and seizures of 15 commercial businesses valued at six million euros. ~ The Mob Reporter is a professional journalist bringing you real-life mob, police and true crime news and educational videos. ~ PLEASE SUBSCRIBE:
