Acids and Alkalines: How they can change Colours

In this workshop, Trudi explains how acids and alkalines can change colours in the textile natural dyeing processes. This works in immersion and solar dyeing as well as eco-printing. Trudi prefers to use potassium alum as her mordant of choice. It is safe and effective and enhances the original colour. Mordants will be covered in more detail in subsequent workshops.
