EVERTON STADIUM PROJECT UPDATE

The façade of Everton Stadium is set to be transformed by barrel cladding that forms the iconic curved edges of the roof. The first perforated, polished aluminium panels will be secured onto the north eastern edge of the stadium next week, following successful engineering safety trials designed to assess the impact of wind. That will signal the beginning of the roll-out of the roof transformation, extending along the entire lengths of the east and west stands, aided by a mechanical crane attachment which can manipulate the sections into various positions. Work to clad the roof edges follows the completion of steelwork and the ongoing installation of outer roof sections to form a watertight outer shell and accelerate the internal fit-out. Internally, the rooms and spaces within the two main stands are already evolving, while within the stadium bowl the first concrete rakers have been installed in the lower tier of the east stand, which is the final stand yet to be infilled to ground level The 1,250 LED panels that make up the giant screen in the south stand are currently being pieced together, to mirror the screen already erected in the north stand. Everton Stadium has one year remaining of the planned three-year build, ahead of its scheduled completion in December, 2024.
