Archival footage of a Su-33 carrier-based fighter falling into the water due to a break in the arresting device during landing on the aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov, December 3, 2016. Then an air group consisting of the Peter the Great TARKR and the Admiral Kuznetsov TARKR was pompously sent to the shores of Syria to strike local militants. However, as a result of a short campaign of sorties from the deck of an aircraft carrier, due to accumulated problems and lack of experience, two aircraft were lost for non-combat reasons within a few weeks: on November 13, the MiG-29KR sank, and on December 3, the Su-33 from this video. After these incidents, in February 2017, “Kuznetsov” returned to Severomorsk, where it underwent lengthy repairs, from where it still has not left.
