Palo & Makuta (Noche Havana 2015)

Choreography/Arrangement: Patriceann Mead Notes: A blend of Mayombe and Spanish, Palo is the war dance of the Congo and is possible the first African dance of Cuba. Makuta is a fertility dance performed by both men and women in which the man represents a rooster and the woman a hen.
