The Two Leslies (1935)

No titles. The Two Leslies. Comic singing duo The Two Leslies - Leslie Holmes (at the piano) and Leslie Sarony - make a funny little introduction to themselves and say “How d’you do?“. They then go into their song - ’Teas, Light Refreshments and Minerals’. It tells of how where ever you go in the country, everywhere is doing ’Teas, Light Refreshments and Minerals’. They sing of how farmers, pub landlords, gypsies and so on are all earning a living from serving teas, light refreshments and minerals, and how at a railway station you’ll look out the window to see where are and just see a sign reading ... (you know!). It’s very funny (I think so, anyway - SL). At one point, Sarony takes his handkerchief out of his top pocket and puts it over his arm, impersonating a doddery old waiter. In the middle of the song, Leslie Sarony pulls up his trouser legs and does a tap dance - looks more like the kind of thing Germans in lederhosen do than a soft shoe shuffle.
