GARAGE: Bad Dream Adventure - NOISE OV

A game over screen that happens during a noise sequence we’ll see later. GARAGE: Bad Dream Adventure is a surrealist horror game developed by Kinotrope made in 1999. It was originally released in very limited numbers (3000 units) until it got a special “private edition“ for a very short time in april 2004 (which was even MORE limited, selling only 90 copies, which reportedly sold out in a day). Alongside the private edition, Sakuba (The game’s director, you can see more of their works here: ) also re-sold the original game on his site, until 2007 when it was discontinued for the final time. The game was considered to be pretty much lost, until a random spark of interest from /vr/ got people clamouring to find the game. Due to japan’s heavy anti-piracy laws, people were rapidly trying to get a copy out of the country to rip so people could play it once again. It took until around April 2014, when user cc0 (aka Mid Heavens in my Garagesan !!OUMLpH0sZpD on 4chan’s /vr/ board) bought a copy off of Yahoo Auctions Japan for 77,000 yen (At the time, ~750 USD) and was later ripped for all to play. Today, it is still relatively unknown except for minor cult following. The draw to GARAGE, in my opinion, is the surrealist, almost “forgotten“ tone to it. The pathetic sad atmosphere paired with the dated graphics and minimalistic soundtrack make for an almost hypnotizing experience. I’ve fallen in love with GARAGE, and am extremely inspired by it’s style and horror, which is why I’ve decided to start uploading direct video rips from cutscenes in the game. All rights go to their respective owners, and I don’t want to monetize or make anything off these videos, I simply want people to be able to easily experience the cutscenes as they are meant to be seen without having to learn japanese to beat the game. Some cutscenes I literally cannot publicly upload because there is some mild nudity (Don’t get too excited, just a badly modelled 3d dick and some nipples) which is a shame because they are some of the most interesting cutscenes.
