Drum Majors flourish during Huntly Pipe Band’s 70th anniversary parade , Scotland, Sept’ 2018

Following their performance in the town Square, Huntly & District Pipe Band return along Gordon Street to conclude their 70th anniversary celebrations. The band were led by their Drum Major Derek Dean and joined by guest Drum major Roland Stuart, who both demonstrated their ’flourish’ skills with the mace as they marched. Walking in front with the trophy is the 2018 World Junior Highland Dancing champion, Michelle Gordon from Huntly. Huntly and District Pipe Band is a recreational band based in the market town of Huntly, Scotland. They were formed in 1948 by Gordon Highlanders returning home from service in WWII, and the Gordon tartan is synonymous with the Huntly and District Pipe Band, having been devised by Forsythes of Huntly. The band is a big part of their local community, sponsored by the famous Shortbread baker Dean’s of Huntly. For details of this great band please see their website:
