Traffic disruptions are expected across much of the rail network in Scotland and the North East due to power outages and flooding on a number of lines. Heavy rainfall in Yorkshire has resulted in several flood warnings as the River Ouse is close to overflowing in York. Flood warnings are in effect on the River Ouse in downtown York, hitting “riverside properties“, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. A severe flood warning means “extensive flooding of facilities and businesses is expected“ and some roads will become “impassable“.
