Cuts (rushes, out takes) for story in Colour Pictorial - CP 521 - “Good-bye to the Circus“. Cut story is on tape *PM0303*. Lots of footage not used in cut story. Various shots of circus acts not in cut story. Some footage is of Billy Smart’s Circus and some of Chipperfield’s Circus. Acts include a roller skating duo and performing elephants. Establishing shots of Billy Smart’s circus tents. Boys climbing under the canvas to sneak in. Sawdust being spread on the ground. Big Top being erected. Animals being let out of trailers. The camels wander around looking bewildered. They try and find some nice succulent grass to eat on the scrubland they find themselves in. A trail of elephants walks along, each holds the tail of the one in front. Various other animals are seen in cages. Baby tigers are fed with bottles. Horses are fed. Hippo is fed. At the circus show - performers parade in the Big Top. Polar Bears are made to do tricks. Note: alternative spelling for search purposes - Chi
