Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, addresses the general debate of the 76th Session of the General Assembly of the UN (New York, 21-27 September 2021). Chinese President Xi today told the General Assembly, “Democracy is not a special right reserved to an individual country, but a right for the people of all countries to enjoy,” adding that recent global developments show once again that “military intervention from the outside and so-called democratic transformation entail nothing but harm.” In a pre-recorded video to the General Assembly’s General Debate, Chinese President Xi Jinping today (21 Sep) said that the world is facing combined impacts of changes unseen in a century and the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that it falls on each and every responsible statesman to answer the question of our time and make a historical choice with confident, courage and a sense of mission. He said that the world must beat COVID-19 and win this decisive fight crucial to the future
