Our under-18s booked their place in the quarter-finals of FA Youth Cup on Saturday as they ran out 4-1 winners over Blackburn Rovers. It was the Rovers who knocked us out at the quarter-final stage last season, but this time around Ken Gillard’s side claimed revenge, delivering an attacking performance of the highest quality. Khayon Edwards opened the scoring with just nine minutes on the clock, raching behind Blackburn’s defence and latching on to Brooke Norton-Cuffy’s through ball. The keeper looked set to claim his searching pass, but failed to take control of the situation and Edwards was on hand to finish into an open goal. Kido Taylor-Hart then went on to double our advantage, cutting inside from the left on a dangerous counter-attack and fizzing the ball into the top corner.
