His songs (Pada) are profoundly the touchstone of love by the Rasika, the admirers. In the full pursuit of the true devotee, he achieved a seat in the world of Baul knowledge and Bhava. Each song composed by him is a holy lotus of spirituality. By listening and meditating on the songs, one can realize that these songs are coming from a true source of deep realization the ultimate attainment of pure meditation. Language was never a barrier with his expression. Sometimes Sadhakas lose their way in Sadhana and can’t find encouragement to move forward. The esoteric theory of Baul practice is embodied in Houre Gosain’s songs,- Manoshiksha, the psychological teaching, Brajtattva, Gurutattva, Bhaktitattva, and tattva of love-Rasatattva, Dehatattva, as well as Chari Chandra bheda the four moon practice and many more are all influenced by the inspiration of Haure Goshai. However in order to realize the theory of these songs, one has to study in the presence of the Guru, the words of Houre are beyond the world. It is like trying to capture the holy lotus with yantra.” It is a burden to set foot in this deep forest without Guru’s grace. His very few songs are sung in general Baul gatherings. Haure Goshai was born on 14th Ashar 1202 (BS) in Mertala of Burdwan district. His father is Haladhar Sanyal and mother is Shyamasundar Devi. From a young age he was known as Motilal Sanyal. Even from his boyhood, he was very talented and dedicated. At the age of 16, he received the initiation mantra from his mother and studied Sanskrit scriptures Veda and Tantra with Srimad Basishtananda -a prominent Sanskrit scholar of his village. In many of his Pada a deep realization of Shiva Shakti Upasana comes up… For a long time, Haure Goshai discussed Bhagavata and Vaishnavism with Srimat Pralhadananda Goswami. He was a resident of Rukunpur in Nadia district. In those days Haure Gosai was deeply attached by the Sahaja Sadhana and he converted to Vaishnavism. At this stage his name became Houre Gosai. The pursuit of death has gained special importance in the Baul tradition. This practice of choosing the time and place of death gives a unique status to the devotee. Haure Gosai chose a holy Baishaki full moon as the departure day of his long life. In 1317 (BS) he passed away in the presence of his dear devotees at the Asharam built by Madhusudan Roy of Kamardanga near Entali in Calcuttau The life of Haure Gosai is the confluence of knowledge, asceticism, and devotion. This devotee of Shakti and Bhakti will forever abide in the heart of the devotee. About Parvathy Baul Parvathy Baul is Baul Sadhika , practitioner of the ancient Baul path. She undertook rigorous practice in the traditional path of Bauls of Bengal under the guidance of her Gurus Sri Sanatan Das Baul and Sri Shashanko Goshai.
