Scat singing on Confirmation

Scat singing is one of my favourite activities (as I’m sure some of you know!). And Charlie Parker’s Confirmation is one of my favourite bebop heads - it’s so joyful and it’s great to scat on! This live performance was recorded last June. Chris Eldred, Conor Chaplin and Pat Davey in the rhythm section. Variety is important when I’m scatting . Sometimes I’m thinking percussively in terms of some of the scat syllables I use, but I also like to sing more smoothly and lyrically over the changes too. There are a few nice licks here too!
