Canada’s diamond jubilee celebrations (to be attended by the Prince of Wales and Mr. Baldwin) open with imposing “pageant of progress“.“ Toronto, Canada Opening sequence shows ranks of soldiers wearing kilts and Scottish uniform, marching in front of a procession of floats. They are watched by crowds lining the route. Floats depict various examples of Canadian history - pilgrims on a flat bottomed boat with Red Indians, oxen pulling carts, soldiers, Red Indians, a railway car pulled by a horse.
