Filming Birdlife in America’s Arctic

At the very north of America’s Arctic is a vast expanse of tundra wetlands hosting some of the highest recorded densities of breeding shorebirds anywhere in the Arctic. Millions of birds from all over the world flock to these wetlands every year to nest and raise their young. Come along with Cornell Lab’s Center for Conservation Media photographer Gerrit Vyn as he travels to Teshekpuk Lake in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska to capture images of some of the region’s most iconic bird species. America’s Arctic is one of North America’s last great wilderness areas, a critical habitat for migratory birds from around the world, and a treasure to be protected for future generations. #AmericasArctic #birds #nature
