Nikki Haley declines to name slavery as a cause of the U.S. Civil War in town hall

In a New Hampshire town hall on Wednesday, GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley declined to name slavery as a cause of the U.S. Civil War after a voter asked the former South Carolina governor “What was the cause of the Civil War?“ during a question and answer session. On Thursday morning she back-peddled in an interview with The Pulse of NH News Talk Radio Network, and said “Yes, I know it was about slavery“, and blamed the question on a “Democrat plant“.
