David Lee Roth : “Just A Gigolo / I Ain’t Got Nobody“ (1985) • Official Music Video • HQ Audio

Please note: I have now uploaded a new improved version of this video, which has superior picture and audio quality, plus optional subtitles for the lyrics. Here is the link: _____________________________ • Official Music Video • HQ Audio • Standard Volume Level • Lyrics Provided Below Please note: I have labelled this music video as the “official“ one, but it does have one slight difference with the original official one. There is one short scene in which the original video had some additional sound added to the music which this video does not have, due to the fact that I have replaced the audio track with a high-quality one of the single. This scene occurs between 0:22 and 0:32 on my video, and the missing sound is the sound of the crowd cheering. The source video I used to create this one is here: That was the best-quality upload of this music video I could find. The sound quality was not good, and the volume level was set too low compared to the majority of music videos. The video was also out of sync, with the picture running late compared to the sound, and some passages of the video were more out of sync than others, so I have had to alter the speed of the footage a number of times to get it to sync up with the sound. I also had to slow down the footage slightly due to the fact that it was running a bit fast compared to the HQ audio track I am using. The single version of this song/medley, which is the one used in this music video, is an edited version of the “Crazy From The Heat“ EP version. Several measures of music have been removed for the single/video version, and this cut occurs at the 4:03 time-point in my video. This single reached No. 6 in New Zealand, No. 7 in Canada, No. 12 in his native USA and No. 13 in Australia. The “Crazy From The Heat“ EP reached (in albums charts) No. 14 in Canada, No. 15 in the USA, No. 18 in Japan, No. 21 in New Zealand and Finland, and No. 91 in the UK. It was produced by Ted Templeman. The song “Just A Gigolo“ was written by Leonello Casucci (music), Julius Brammer (lyrics) and Irving Caesar (lyrics). It was published in 1929 and was apparently first recorded by Ted Lewis in 1931. The song “I Ain’t Got Nobody“ was written by Spencer Williams (music) and Roger Graham (lyrics). It was published in 1915 and first recorded by Marion Harris in 1916. The first person to combine the two songs was Louis Prima in 1956, and his medley became the most well-known version of either song, even though it was not released as a single. For more information on this song and track, see these pages: a Gigolo (song)&title=Special:Search ’t_Got_Nobody I have not been able to find an official presentation of the lyrics to this song, and the transcripts I have found on lyrics websites are very inaccurate and incomplete. Presented as a pinned comment below is my own transcript of the lyrics, for which I have used those transcripts found on lyrics websites as a guide. Many of the lines are very hard to hear or work out, so please be aware that this transcript of mine is bound to contain some mistakes. I have not attempted to include the words being sung ad lib during the sax solo, as they are particularly hard to hear or work out.
