Dubai holds first ever jetpack racing competition

Finally. After fruitless, pointless decades without there being a jetpack racing competition, there is finally a jetpack racing competition. Gravity Industries, inventors of the Jet Suit, held the racing competition in, around and slightly above Dubai, to see which test pilot was the fastest. And, despite ‘minor collisions’ with each other, 22-year-old Issa Kalfon from the United Kingdom took home the coveted ‘Golden Jet Turbine’ trophy. Or at least, it will be coveted, if Gravity Industries have their way. ‘The closest analogy would be that dream of flying,’ said Gravity founder Richard Browning. ‘And yes, the world of Marvel superheroes and DC Comics, they have created that dream book with CGI, and we’ve got the closest I think anybody’s ever got to delivering that for real.’ However, unlike the real Iron Man, these suits only have enough fuel for about eight minutes flight time. Pff. Tony Stark was able to build that in a cave. With a box of scraps.
