Tamil Nadu: Baby elephant reunites with mother, herd traced using drones These are heartwarming visuals of a calf sleeping on its mother’s lap, after forest officials reunited the baby elephant with its mother at the Annamalai Tiger Reserve in Coimbatore’s Valparai. Forest officials spotted the calf, which had separated from its herd and was wandering alone in search of its mother in Manampalli Forest reserve. TN Forest officials rescued the baby elephant and began search operations for its herd using drones. They tracked down the herd around 3 km away and safely transported the calf to the spot.
