ABOUT THE GOLDEN MEAN IN THE LIFE OF A CHRISTIAN Sermon after the classical music concert I’d like to say a few words, first of all, to my sisters. I always try to teach you to live between passion and alienation. Passion makes us insane, while alienation makes us cruel. On the one hand, I wouldn’t like you to be passionate about all the worldly things, on the other, there is no good running counter to them. What we really need is a golden mean between the two. I want you to be neither insane, nor cruel. God creates everything in this world. I like to cite our bellowed St. Porphyrios of Kafsokalivia who says: “God created sounds, God created smells”.
