An Unexpected Encounter With Another Explorer at an Abandoned Talc Mine

I recently set out across the desert on a dark, cold, moonless night to explore a small, abandoned mine up in the hills. An hour later I reached the talc mine and found a large, gaping entrance that led downward into a stope. Once I made my way down the inclined entryway and was inside the stope, I suddenly heard noises coming from outside the mine! I turned around to determine what was causing the commotion in the mine’s entrance and was surprised to see another explorer named Jon step through! Jon is prolific on TikTok. His account there is deathvalleyblondy. He’s got some videos of abandoned mines on there as well as other things. The “blondy” in deathvalleyblondy refers to his dog Blondy who passed away last year.
