Title reads: “Winston gives a house away“. Sevenoaks, Kent. Former Prime Minister Winston Churchill presents Churchill Court to the British Legion. M/S of Churchill sitting on the back of an open car driving through a crowd to Churchill Court. The house was given to him by Mr. C.A. Hopkins as a mark of his appreciation to Churchill, the “Architect of Victory“. M/S of Churchill shaking hands with a tiny girl upon arrival. Various C/U of Churchill, with Sir Frederick Maurice, chief of the British Legion, inspecting men of the Legion. M/S of Churchill, full face, standing on platform giving the V-sign (as in ’v’ for victory) as men of the Legion carrying flags file past. The men marching return the V-sign. Various shots of the crowd watching the ceremony. Bunting is strung along in front of the house.
