BEN 10 | How Far We’ve Come

WATCH IN HD HEADPHONES FOR BEST EXPERIENCE. I included a watermark because I spent seven days on this edit and I’m not about to let it potentially be stolen and reuploaded somewhere else. Happy anniversary to Ben 10’s first episode, all the way back in 2005! It’s been sixteen years, wow. Crazy to think that I’ve been a fan for the entirety of the classic continuity runtime. This is a remake of an old UAF video that I uploaded over three years ago. Despite it only getting about a thousand views before it got claimed and taken down (my poor editing made it really easy for the YouTube bot to find it), I still, TO THIS DAY, get comments about it, so there, I remade it. This time with the entire classic continuity new and improved editing. Now please stop asking about it. Things that will get your comment deleted: - Mentioning the reboot at all. As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t exist. - “Why wasn’t *insert scene* included?“ It’s a three-minute long video for a show with 227 episodes — and don’t even get me started on the shorts, movies, and specials. Sorry that your personal favorite clips didn’t make the cut, bestie. Make your own AMV. - Shipping Ben and Gwen. Those hugs are for sibling purposes ONLY. In this house, we love and respect Ben and Gwen completely platonically. In other news, if the voice overs are too much for you, I would suggest either turning on subtitles or viewing the alternative video that I have on Vimeo. It’s the same thing, but with voices only during the instrumentals so that there’s no overlap in words. Here’s the link: I’d like to dedicate this AMV to Kuro the Artist with @TheInkTank. I admit that I don’t read his comic (I’ve only ever interacted with his YouTube content) but it goes without saying that he’s had an incredible influence on the fandom and has shaped a lot of my opinions on Ben 10/the way that I interact with the show as a whole. This updated AMV is primarily a gift for him, as he enjoyed the older version a lot, and it’s simply too embarrassing for me to think that someone who makes so much good content enjoys an AMV that I made three years ago with 480p quality video. Now I can rest easy at night. My other dedication goes to my friend Dani, aka @Nightjewel-rp1bl here on YouTube! She’s been an amazing friend to have in the Ben 10 fandom, and not only are her edits amazing (certainly better than mine), but her art is fantastic, too. Her support towards my work, be it AMVs or fanfiction, has been invaluable. She’s a great person and a lovely friend, and I highly suggest checking out her work! She made an animated trailer for my Ben/Rook fic, in full color. It’s the definition of a labor of love and it’s as incredible as she is. Go support her, because I seriously cannot sing her praises enough! Lastly, as I am a fanfiction writer, I could not celebrate this anniversary without encouraging all of you to read. My own fics are on the table, naturally, but you can also find my full Ben 10 rec list on my Tumblr account, here: It has a variety of ships featured and plenty of general fics with a focus on friendship and cool aliens and plot ideas! I will go back and update the list periodically if/when something catches my interest. Sometimes being in the Ben 10 fandom has caused me grief, but it has, without a doubt, been a huge positive impact on my life and I wouldn’t trade that time for anything. I’m not super active in the fandom anymore aside from shitposts and finishing the last two chapters of my Ben/Rook fic, but to anyone who read this far, and to content creators especially, I just want to say: Thank you.
