I early October 2024 I had the chance to spend one night in Shepton Mallet Prison, England. As a convinced sceptic I was looking to find evidence of the paranormal. I love urban exploring and abandoned spaces but I never had the chance to spend the night such a historic site. HMP Shepton Mallet, sometimes known as Cornhill, is a former prison in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England. When it closed in 2013, it had been the United Kingdom’s oldest operating prison, following the closure of HMP Lancaster Castle in 2011.
