Our in-house code TURBINS was used to model a 2-D uniform flow over a symmetric airfoil with an angle of attack equal to 20 degrees. Top: Vorticity (exhibiting flow rotation) magnitude.
Bottom: Red-Blue(100%-0%) exhibits the passive dye concentration following the fluid flow. Constant release of dye upstream can help with understanding the mixing dynamics in the wake of the flow.
Reynolds number based on maximum airfoil thickness is 2,500.
Cord/maximum thickness = 4.
