Mr. Wedgewood-Benn makes his tour of the new office watching the operation right through. MS Tony Benn and Mayor of Southampton, Reg Haskell, watch the new “segregator“ machine rotating to separate the heavy and light mail. Men sort parcels and bag up sacks, labelling them for all parts of the world. The sack is automatically lifted off a conveyor and taken to the next department.
