Watch now! *Alfa Romeo Giulia Gtam* Under the hood of the new Giulia GTA is the Alfa Romeo 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo engine, entirely made of aluminium, which develops 540 horsepower. This increase was obtained, as explained by Alfa Romeo engineers, not only through software changes, such as remapping, but also through interventions on the hardware and mechanics of the engine. These changes also required an overhaul of the cooling systems. Among the salient new features of the car, the titanium Akrapovič central exhaust system stands out, already seen on the Quadrifoglio Racing, integrated into the carbon fiber rear diffuser. The Giulia GTA also sports 20-inch single-nut wheels of a typically Alfa Romeo design, a first for a sedan, with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 Connect tyres. Tire dimensions are 285/30 at the rear and 265/30 at the front, where there is a double wishbone suspension. At the rear, however, there is a specifically developed multilink system. The car’s handling has been optimized by widening the front and rear tracks by 50 mm and developing a new set of springs, shock absorbers and bushings for the suspension systems. The Giulia GTA is equipped with rear-wheel drive and an 8-speed ZF gearbox, which demonstrates almost telepathic responsiveness, especially on the track. The declared performances are supercar-like: a maximum speed of 300 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Driving, both the GTAm and the GTA prove surprisingly comfortable. In the GTAm, the carbon monocoque seats may seem extreme, but overall the car offers fast handling and cornering of rare precision. The car is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and its character is not at all grumpy.
