The RMS Lusitania was a UK-registered ocean liner that was torpedoed by an Imperial German Navy submarine during World War I on 7 May 1915. The Cunard ocean liner was attacked by the U-20 after the single torpedo hit the ship, which sank in just 18 minutes. 761 people survived of the 1,266 passengers and 696 crew on board.
