A tough nun to crack: Catholic nun is Singapore’s first taekwondo world champion

Catholic nun Linda Sim of the Franciscan Sisters has another side to her: she is also a taekwondo champion. FOR SUBSCRIBERS: As a teenager, Sister Linda picked up taekwondo for self defence. She continued to practise and hone her skills, even after she joined the religious order of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM) 43 years ago. And while her mission work has taken her to places such as Zimbabwe, it was taekwondo that took her to the top of the world in April this year.
