Thousands of pilgrims circled the Kaaba in Mecca as they continued their annual Hajj pilgrimage. The cube-shaped structure built on Islam’s holiest site symbolises the monotheistic principle of God. Muslims around the world direct their daily prayers towards the Kaaba.
