Staycation in Belleek Castle, Ireland. The castle was built in 1831 and went through various owners until it was bought in 1961 by the adventurer and swashbuckling, Marshall Thomas Doran. Doran, who was actually born, Jack Marshal Fenn (he changed his name to Marshall Doran after acquiring an American seaman’s papers of the same name) restored Belleek Castle to the wonderful place it is today. The interior of the castle has many wonderful artefacts and antiques from all over the world which were collected by Marshall Doran throughout his exciting life. We stayed in a room with a medieval touch. The castle has only 10 rooms, all beautifully decorated and restored. Today, the castle is managed by Marshall Doran’s son, Paul Doran and his wife Ms. Maya Nikolaeva. The Jack Fenn’s Cafe & Bistro offers great homemade food.
