Death Star over San Francisco

A not so long time ago, in an alternate universe where continued Cold War defense spending brought us huge advances in military technology... SF Fleet Week ’08. Also check out my other Star Wars videos: Death Star Destroys Enterprise: Death Star Over Copenhagen: Every Jedi Ever: For those interested in how I made it: Over the course of a year in 2007, I shot crappy DV camera footage around my neighborhood in North Beach, San Francisco. The Star Wars vehicles are either 2D stills found on the internet, or video I roto-scoped out of the movies, which I then motion-tracked and composited in After FX. Everything is basic 2D, no 3D in this. I used the trapcode particular plug-in for some steam and smoke effects, and did basic sound design and assembly in Final Cut. Thanks for watching! - Mike
