These works are defined by their rich visual narratives and seamless combination of artforms including puppetry, physical performance and projected image. Jessica Wilson is a director and producer of non-text based theatre. She was Artistic Director of Terrapin Theatre between 1999 and 2004 and now works freelance out of Victoria. Her work can be divided into three theatrical forms; large-scale spectacle theatre, in-theatre works for young audiences, and conceptual community cultural development projects. For each new production, a distinctive team of artists is brought together in a collaborative process that focuses on the development of strong visual narratives. Through a distinctive combination of puppetry, stop motion animation, original music and physical performance, this production playfully explores the ethical dilemmas society faces, as new developments are made in health and fertility. A contemporary moral tale, it draws on the traditional structure of fables to raise questions about the remarkable futures and modern day miracles promised by science. 58 mins. Dr Egg and the Man with No Ear premiered at the Sydney Opera House in July 2007 before playing at the Arts Centre in Melbourne and Perth’s Awesome Festival. In 2008 DR EGG played in a seven week season in Chicago at Redmoon Theater.
