Sukhoi Su-15 Flagon - A Short History

The Sukhoi Su-15 Flagon was a jet interceptor produced by the Soviet Union. It was the successor to the Sukhoi Su-9 and the Sukhoi Su-11, and was developed to face the threat of American Boeing B-52’s and Lockheed U2’s, as well as British V-bombers. It entered service in the Soviet Union in 1965, and was retired in the 1990’s.
